The short answer
For most established agents, yes. One extra listing a quarter typically covers a year of marketing several times over. The real question is not whether lead generation is worth it, but whether the system behind it turns leads into listings.
What it costs
AgentHype's management fee sits between $799 and $1,199 a month, plus ad spend paid directly to Meta, typically $25 to $50 a day. There is no setup fee and no lock-in contract.
What you would pay to do it in-house
To run this yourself you would need an ads manager, a graphic designer, a video editor and someone managing your CRM and follow up. In salaries alone, that is well over $100,000 a year, or roughly $8,000 to $10,000 a month, before software and ad spend. AgentHype gives you that full team, with AI follow up technology, for a fraction of the cost.
The commission maths
Use your own numbers here. As an example, if your average commission per sale is $15,000, one additional listing that sells covers more than a year of AgentHype management fees. Two extra listings a year and the return is several times the outlay.
Over three months, fees and a modest ad budget come to around $5,000. A single listing at $15,000 to $25,000 in commission pays for that several times. Two or three listings and the marketing cost becomes a small line in a much larger result.
How leads turn into listings
- Across 67 campaigns in October 2026, seller leads averaged $22.52.
- At $25 to $50 a day, that is roughly 33 to 67 seller enquiries a month.
- Chris from Nest Property Agents averages 10 in-house appraisals for every 30 leads.
- Jacob from Ray White generated 19 listings in 12 months.
Compare it to what you spend now
Most agents already spend on marketing. They just cannot measure it. A $5,000 bus stop sign for a year might bring in one or two listings, and you will never know which. The same $5,000 in ad spend, at around $25 a lead, is roughly 200 trackable enquiries. Even at a 10% conversion to listing, the difference is significant.
Monthly letterbox drops often cost several hundred dollars and rarely produce a measurable result. Moving that budget into ads, while keeping handwritten notes to neighbours after each sale, usually lifts results. See are letterbox drops still worth it.
Ways to reduce your outlay
- Vendor paid advertising. Add a modest social campaign, often around $250, to your marketing schedule. Your vendor funds the listing campaign, and the brand exposure in the area benefits you.
- Ask your principal. Many offices cover the management fee while the agent pays ad spend, because a stronger agent brand helps the office too.
- Longer terms. Rates are lower on 3 and 12 month terms than month to month.
What protects your investment
AgentHype guarantees a minimum of 15 appraisal requests a month, and backs it with a 30-day money-back guarantee if we do not deliver what we promised. Your area is exclusive, so you are not paying to compete with another client.
The cost of doing nothing
The listings in your area will still be listed this year. The only question is which agent wins them. Every month without a system is a month of appraisals going to the agent whose face your homeowners see every day.
When it is not worth it
If you are brand new to the industry, or winding down and only want the occasional listing, a full lead system is probably not the right investment yet. It works best for motivated, established agents ready to grow. Read should new agents pay for lead generation for more.
The bottom line
Marketing is the highest return line in most agents' businesses, and the most underinvested. Run your own numbers. If one listing pays for the year, the decision is about the system, not the spend.
